Meet Dr. Steve Wilson
Introducing Dr. Steve Wilson, Chair of the Department of Music and Professor of Trombone at the University of Texas at El Paso. As a renowned soloist and chamber musician, Dr. Wilson has toured and recorded with various ensembles, including The Big Bad Bones and The Continental Trombone Quartet. His expertise extends internationally, with recitals and master classes at prestigious venues and conferences.
Meet Frank Otero
Meet Frank Otero, UTEP's Adjunct Professor of Jazz, Trombone, and Music Literature since 2014. With over 25 years of music education experience, Frank directs Jazz Band 2, teaches in the trombone studio, and brings his expertise to Jazz to Rock and Music Appreciation classes. A top-call trombonist in El Paso, he's performed with renowned artists and toured internationally.

The trombone studio at the University of Texas at El Paso is home to outstanding players from across the region whose focus is on building a strong foundation in trombone fundamentals, gaining experience in performing in a wide range of styles, and learning entrepreneurial skills that will prepare them for the 21st Century Arts Economy. Students in the studio major in Music Education, Music Performance, Commercial Music and Composition.
