UTEP Trombones in Leeds and Beyond

Students in the UTEP Trombone Studio have the opportunity to travel internationally to Leeds, England with the UTEP Chamber Singers as part of a bi-annual residency with the Leeds Cathedral that has been active since 2016.  The residency includes a week-long stay in Leeds with side visits to York and London, that provide students with the opportunity to play a series of concerts of sacred and secular music for Choir and Trombone Quartet, both at Leeds Cathedral as part of the daily mass service, and out in the community in the surrounding areas.  In the past, trombonists have had the opportunity to watch Opera North live in concert, have master classes with the Royal Northern College of Music trombone faculty, and work with world-renown trombonists Christian Jones and Richard Harris.

Beyond Leeds, the UTEP Trombone Choir is active on campus and has performed featured concerts at the Big 12 Trombone Conference and at the Texas Music Educators Association Conference.
